As far back as I can remember (and that's becoming a greater and greater distance) the thing that I enjoyed doing the most was drawing. Even as that young child, my favorite subjects to draw were people and the houses they lived in. I have always been fascinated by the human, not a surface prettiness, but the expressions on faces and the abstract shapes that bodies create as well as the homes people live in and the wonderful clothing that they created through the centuries and across the globe.

As time went on, I continued to learn the skills and techniques of art, but no matter what else I was required to paint, I would always come back to painting the subject that intrigued and inspired me the most---the human figure. I want to paint people and I want to paint peoples' stories. Each person is a masterpiece and that fascinates me. And so, I am frequently a painter of humanity, recording peoples' stories, peoples' activities, and peoples' histories. People of all ages and nationalities are infinitely beautiful, and so I have an infinite source of inspirational material.
